Our Commitment to Procurement & Construction Standards

We aspire to uphold best practice through a framework grounded in our three pou: Te Iho Tū (Secure), Te Iho Whenua (Thriving), and Te Iho Tangata (Connected). These pou guide how we approach procurement, construction, and community impact.

Te Iho Tū – Te Atiawa Secure

Economic & Workforce Development

✔ Māori Business Participation – A minimum of 20% of total contract value spent with Māori businesses registered with He Toronga Pakihi ki Taranaki or Amotai.
✔ Living Wage Commitment – All employees earn at least the living wage.
✔ Apprenticeship & Training – Prioritising Te Atiawa apprentices for upskilling in the construction workforce.

Te Iho Whenua – Te Atiawa Thriving

Environmental Responsibility

✔ Waste Minimisation – At least 40% of construction waste diverted from landfill.
✔ Embodied Carbon Assessment – Providing a carbon impact report post-building consent design.

Te Iho Tangata – Te Atiawa Connected

Cultural Integrity & Community Engagement

✔ Cultural Induction – All employees and subcontractors must complete a cultural induction provided by Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa.
✔ Hapū Engagement – Hapū must be informed of all earthworks at least five days before commencement for cultural monitoring on-site.
